“The idea behind my Emperor Bowl series
is based on an ancient pottery form, designed to hold one flower. I
find that Asian-influenced forms lend themselves well to my coloration
style, and the Emperor Bowl lends itself particularly well to the magnification
of my optics, which is an important component of my work.” |

External, 7 x 6.5 x 6.5 in
Hand-shaped free blown glass off the pipe with an external coloration of sixteen multi-layered colors of various particle sizes in powder, cane, and frit. In the reheating chamber the gas and oxygen environment is changed to an all gas flame, creating a reaction from the metals in the coloration, similar to a raku technique. Cut and polished top.
